Many of the American people have absolutely no knowledge of the UN or it workings--how do you propose to raise awareness so that more American people understand the UN?

Richardson:

The United Nations is important to America's security. A lot of problems that America needs to deal with internationally and collectively can be handled through the UN like issues relating to nuclear proliferation, environmental degradation, international terrorism, drug cartels. if we act united with the UN, American purpose and goals can be achieved. The UN can work for the US. This is why it is so important that we pay our dues--the billion dollars that we owe the UN.

Q. How do we raise the awareness of the American people?

Richardson

If they see this crisis in IRAQ, they will see that the UN is doing work for the American people by keeping weapons of mass destruction destroyed and out of circulation. The UN inspection team is the UN effort and that is the UN and that is important not just to American's but to all citizen's around the world.
